The main objective of the International Relations Department's BS four-year program at NSIST is to enable graduates to acquire in-depth subject knowledge and the ability to analyze and draw conclusions from specific situations. The curriculum at NSIST covers compulsory and optional courses in IR at both basic and advanced levels, including Theories of International Relations, Research Methodology, International Political Economy, Security and Strategic Studies, Foreign Policy Analysis, Diplomacy, International Organizations, International Law, Conflict Analysis and Conflict Resolution, Foreign Policy of India and Pakistan. These courses are designed to familiarize students with the concepts, theories, methods, and historical and current dynamics of international relations. One focus is the promotion of advanced research.
BS International Relations is a four-year degree program compromising of eight regular semesters. However, after the completion of 72 credit hours, cut-off degree is also issued on the request of student concerned. The minimum requirements for the award of BS Degree are 132 credit hours.

The four year BSIR program is to prepare graduates having a deep knowledge of the subject as well as ability to analyze any given situation and draw out conclusions. The syllabus of the subject is designed by keeping in view the following objectives. To have a sound knowledge of the subject. To have a broader view of other disciplines of social as well as physical sciences. It will enable the students to interact with other branches of knowledge and strengthen their understanding of society. To equip the students with essential tools and techniques of research. It will enable them to analyze any given situation/issue and suggest its possible solutions. To empower them to establish and develop a viable linkage between theory/concepts and practice in the field.
An individual holding a Higher Secondary School Certificate from a Pakistani Board or an equivalent certificate from any other recognized institution, with at least a second division or its equivalent grade, is eligible for admission. Eligible foreign students are admitted subject to a valid visa and NOC from HEC. Age Limit: The age limit for admission to BS program is 22 years. However, exception to the applicants over 22 years of age may be granted in special circumstances by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Head of the Department.
International Relations FA/FSc or equivalent with at least 50% marks. • Metric /SSC/Equivalent: 30% • FSc /Equivalent: 70% • Formula: Merit = (MOM)/(TM) × 30 + (MOF)/ (TM) × 70 Where • MOM = Marks obtained in Metric or Equivalent • MOF = Marks obtained in FSc or Equivalent • TM = Total Marks in the relevant Examination.
